CLASS: Art Classes with Lorraine Auton 

Exploring and developing art techniques. Each session has a different subject so you can join in at any time. 

Sessions are flexible and tailored to the individual needs of the students.

Session 4  - 'Cones and Shells'

To focus on observation, accurate draftsmanship and shading.

Using pencil, sharpen up those drawing skills with the challenging spiral based form of fir cones and other natural objects.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Cost:  £10 per session

STARTER CLASS: Art Classes with Lorraine Auton  

(for complete beginners and those with a little experience)

Exploring and developing art techniques. Each session has a different subject so you can join in at any time. 

Sessions are flexible and tailored to the individual needs of the students.

Session 4 - Stormy Skies - creating atmosphere.

To build confidence by working on a slightly larger, freer scale.

Following a demonstration, we will use charcoal and chalk to create a dramatic, moody masterpiece.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Cost:  £10 per session

MOSAIC WORKSHOPS with Fehmi Gokes

A 5 week course to show you how to make your own mosaic and learn a variety of different mosaic techniques.

A great way to learn a new creative skill and even better if you come along with a friend.

Cost: £135 which includes ALL materials. (Deposit of £35 required to secure your place.)

Dates: May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th

Time: 19.00 to 21.15

Session 5  - 'Teasels and Cobwebs'

To choose suitable media for a range of effects.

Using a beautiful image of teasels and cobwebs as inspiration, we will use a range of media to create our own version of this picture.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Session 5 - Dandelion Clocks

An introduction to different brush skills using acrylic paints. 

Using dry brushing techniques, we will follow a step-by-step guide to painting an arrangement of dandelion seed heads on a slate tile. This should create a lovely decorative piece to take home.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Session 6  - 'Sky Conditions'

To explore techniques to describe various cloud formations using one or two types of pastel.

Choose from a selection of sky photographs and try to recreate the appearance of different sky conditions. Compare the effects using either conte soft pastels or oil pastels to achieve this.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Sessions are flexible and tailored to the individual needs of the students.

Session 7  - 'Leaping Trout'

To build upon previous splashing skills and combine them into a more technical piece conveying movement and spontaneity.

Using the techniques learnt in session 2, we will layer up different colours of splashed acrylic paint (fun but messy).

Finally, we will overlay a silvery, leaping trout to complete the composition.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Cost:  £10 per session

Sessions 8 / 9

Tues

June 4th and 11th

CLASS: Art Classes with Lorraine Auton 

Exploring and developing art techniques. Each session has a different subject so you can join in at any time. 

Sessions are flexible and tailored to the individual needs of the students.

Sessions 8 / 9  - Press Printing.

To explore design, pattern and repeated pattern and to accomplish a simple printing technique.

Press printing is a simpler alternative to lino cutting but with similar results. Your own design will be 'engraved' into polystyrene sheets and then printed into a pattern with several coloured printing inks.

Time:  7pm to 8:30/9:00pm.

Cost:  £10 per session  (There might be a small extra charge to cover the cost of printing inks)
